Xiaomi is updating its flagship Book Pro series with newer processors, graphics cards and even better new displays. The 2022 Book Pro series will rely on Core i5-1240P Alder Lake CPU with 4 Performance and 8 Efficient (12 in total) hybrid core architecture. This is a low-power (28-64W) processor for light and thin designs such as Xiaomi Book series.
The new CPU architecture is an upgrade over 11th Gen Core “Tiger Lake-H35” which were the backbone of 2021 Book Pro laptops. Book Pro 2022 laptops are part of Intel EVO series.
Both the 14 inch and 16 inch models will be equipped with 16GB of LPDDR5 memory and 512GB of PCIe Gen4 SSD. Book Pro 2022 series feature CNC cut chassis with 14.9 mm thickness.
The new OLED displays are the most significant upgrade to the Book Pro. The 16-inch model gets 4K screen whereas the 14-inch model gets 2.8K resolution. Both have touch support and 600 nits of brightness. These are 0.33 Delta-E color accuracy panels with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. There is no information on the panel’s refresh rate, so these are probably 60 Hz.
The Book Pro 2022 series will offer a few graphics options, including built-in Iris Xe Graphics with 80 Execution Units, discrete GeForce MX550 GPU or GeForce RTX 2050 which was released last year.
In terms of pricing, Xiaomi will sell those laptops for 5899 to 8499 RMB depending on a configuration. There is no international pricing because Book Pro series are usually exclusive to the Chinese market.
