In a significant move for fans of "Team Red," MSI this past Friday unveiled its new MPG InfiniteZ3 X3D series of pre-built gaming desktops. More importantly, the launch was accompanied by a clear statement of intent: MSI confirmed it "plans to launch more gaming desktops featuring AMD processors in the future, providing more choices for consumers who prefer the AMD platform."
The new lineup is headlined by a monster configuration built to tackle next-generation gaming, featuring AMD's highly anticipated Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor paired with NVIDIA's flagship GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card. MSI is making bold performance claims for this top-tier rig, stating it achieves an average of 360 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K (3840x2160). This benchmark was run with RTX set to Medium and utilizing DLSS Performance Mode with 4x Frame Generation.
Beyond the core components, the MPG InfiniteZ3 X3D is engineered for sustained performance and ease of use. The system is kept cool by an AIO liquid cooler integrated into MSI's "Silent Storm Cooling AI" system. The motherboard caters to enthusiasts and future upgraders with three M.2 slots featuring the tool-less EZ M.2 CLIP, as well as an EZ PCIe CLIP II for simple graphics card removal. For mass storage, the chassis includes two 3.5-inch drive bays and one 2.5-inch bay.
A unique feature for tweakers is the "X3D Gaming Mode," a BIOS-level setting that MSI claims can boost performance by an additional 2% to 20%, depending on the game and workload.
The MSI MPG InfiniteZ3 X3D series is scheduled for release this month, with the following configurations announced:
Top-Tier: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 32GB
