We have the EVGA X17 Gaming Mouse and we have a worlds first! Triple sensors! 2 of those sensors are LOD sensors. These detect the lift-off-distance in conjunction with the main sensor. This system uses a triple sensor algorithm to detect the position where you lift the mouse off a surface and put the mouse back down, achieving the shortest and most accurate lift-off distance. EVGA’s 3-Dimension Array Tech algorithm can detect within a minimum of 0.4 mm to a maximum of 3 mm from the mouse to the surface, dynamically adjusting the best power-off height. Customize the power-off height in different directions to achieve the most accurate gaming in the world with EVGA UNLEASH RGB software.

If you are looking for the most accurate mouse, this one might take the crown. As much as it should be, the extra sensors are a nice addition to the Pixart 3389 sensor. This is the best sensor Pixart makes and EVGA has put it one of the most advanced mice out there. As you can see in the pictures below, EVGA has also really emphasized the curvature of the mouse’s design. The curve looks like it will fit perfect in any palm. Lets continue through the next few pages and see everything this mouse has to offer!

Some people may want to know why it is even important to show you guys the packaging. So if you have wondered why, I will tell you now. Simple, we want to show you guys how the original packaging looks. With so many resellers and ways to buy online products, you as a buyer need to be aware of how the original package should look when it arrives. This lets you know if you are receiving an authentic product, that hasn’t been replicated or repackaged. It is really easy to be duped by an online purchase claiming to be the real deal.

TRIPLE SENSOR WITH 3-DIMENSION ARRAY TECH

EVGA brings you the world’s first triple sensor mice with dual LOD sensors, paired with a Pixart 3335 optical sensor on the X20 or Pixart 3389 on the X17. Most gaming mice use the mouse’s primary sensor or an additional LOD to detect the lift-off distance, while the EVGA X20/17 uses a more advanced 3-Dimension Array Tech.

Conclusion and Verdict

Well we reached the conclusion, where I’m going to sum up my experience with the X17. First off this mouse’s design is spot on. The curve of the mouse natural fits into a resting palm. Place your hand on your desk like you are reaching for a mouse. I did this several times and noticed that I always place my hand with my thumb slightly raised and more weight on the outside of my palm. I never placed my hand perfectly parallel to the desk. And if you notice this mouse has a very similar shape to how I was setting my hand down. If you look closely most mice have a slight slope to one side but the EVGA has taken that a slope a little further and it really gave me a natural grip when I was using this mouse. This mouse was very comfortable to use. The smooth finish and rubber side grips add to the comfortability and usability of this mouse.

So for a world first triple sensor mouse I would expect this mouse to be on of the best I have used. Between the lift off detection, 3389 sensor, and the 8000Hz report rate, this indeed is one of the most responsive units I have used. The lift off is accurate even when you are lifting your mouse to get more real estate out of your mouse pad. This can give you a huge advantage if you a lower your LOD and the mouse stops reporting as soon as possible when it’s picked up. And with the software you can calibrate this feature!

You need RGB on a mouse right. Yep, I agree. EVGA didn’t forget about that either. We have 3 separate zones on the X17. One on the very front that emits a nice glow out of the front of the mouse. The next zone is on the scroll wheel and the third is on the very back of the mouse where the logo is.
