Pre-order opportunity for Nvidia RTX 4090 and 4080 gaming laptops opens on February 1st

Pre-orders for laptops featuring Nvidia's highly-anticipated RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 mobile GPUs will open on February 1st, one week before their official launch on February 8th. This will give consumers an opportunity to secure a high-end gaming laptop before day-one availability dries up. The rest of the RTX 40 series lineup, including the RTX 4070, 4060, and 4050, will be released on February 22nd.

The RTX 4090 is the flagship GPU of this generation and will feature 9728 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR6 operating on a 256-bit bus. Clock speeds will range from 1455MHz to 2040MHz, with power consumption ranging from 80W to 150W, depending on the laptop manufacturer's choices and cooling design.

The RTX 4080, which serves as the runner-up to the 4090, will feature 7424 CUDA cores and 12GB of GDDR6 on a 192-bit bus. Clock speeds will range from 1350MHz to 2280MHz, with power consumption ranging from 60W to 150W.

Nvidia boasts that both of these high-end mobile GPUs will be capable of 60 FPS gameplay on not just one, but three 4K monitors set up in a surround gaming configuration. This claim likely includes the use of DLSS 3 frame generation technology to improve performance.
